Introduction to The Mind Trap
The Mind Trap got its name because to get out of your head, you must first get into it and that can feel very much like a trap; so I decided to try and break it down into smaller sections.

Welcome to The Mind Trap! I created The Mind Trap because while singing has always been my number one passion, I am almost equally as passionate about mental health, human behaviour and psychology.

The Mind Trap is a mental health blog, fueled by my own personal studies in psychology and anthropology to explore improving mental health, personal development, understanding what makes us human, parenting and much more.

Since being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2014 I have been on a long journey to understanding this confusing world (and people) around me. I’d love to share what I’ve learned over the years because it helps me and I’d like to believe it could help someone else, too.

The Mind Trap is not perfect. I am not a professional in any shape or form - I am just somebody that is passionate and inquisitive about the world. Most of my work comes from extensive research from various sources and lived experience. My work is not intended to be taken as factual or medical advice. My work is simply intended to be thought-provoking and inspiring.

I believe that with some guidance, or a different perspective, everyone can improve.

Though The Mind Trap will not be focusing on any specific mental health illness in particular - many of the tools used to treat BPD are absolutely wonderful for those who don't have it, or have other conditions and much of my work is inspired by the insanely successful programme, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). As I am in no way, shape or form, a professional in any psychiatric area - none of my work is intended to be taken as medical advice.

The Mind Trap got its name because to get out of your head, you must first get into it and that can feel very much like a trap; so I decided to try and break it down into smaller sections.

I decided to create The Mind Trap because I know there are tonnes of people in this world who feel the way I do. Confused, overwhelmed and trapped by their mind. My goal here is to provide coping mechanisms and ideas to help soothe any overwhelming emotions and thought processes. The idea of The Mind Trap is to first understand and get into your own mind so that you can begin to break free of its confinements.

I hope that you'll join me on my journey.
